Motion

Today as Dad was holding and rubbing Mom's right hand, she was able to move her fingers slightly when he asked her to!

This is great news, obviously, and we hope just the beginning. The doctors have been doing MRIs to try to discern why Mom seems unable to move. There are certainly areas in her brain where damage has occurred, but the doctors aren't convinced that any of the damage is the sort that would prevent her from moving her limbs.

Mom's ability to move her fingers today is very encouraging to all of us. We've all been a little (okay, a lot) worried... including Mom.

Mom is still mouthing lots of words and sentences. It'll be great when the trach tube can be removed and she can start talking.

Yes! Thanks God! Your attentiveness to Your children is so faithful! This answer to prayer has got me jumpin'!

We love you Sandy, and your precious family. We really enjoyed having Christopher with us today, as we all did school together. You have a really special young man.

Love,
Kim

Sandy, I know you and God are going to overcome this, one finger at a time. I am reminded of a verse that God gave me long ago when I was facing an uphill climb...

Proverbs 3:23,26
Then you will go on your way in safety, and your foot will not stumble.
For the Lord will be your confidence and will keep your foot from being snared.

He will give us challenges that seem insurmountable at times, He allows those mountains in our paths but it has always brought me great comfort that He will not let my foot slip along the way, no matter how steep the climb or narrow the path. Sometimes that has been my only comfort! that my foot will not slip or get stuck. I know He guides me in a forward direction even when I don't feel like I'm going anywhere!

And so, my friend, I know this is true for you also, he will not allow your feet to slip or be snared. Wherever you go, know that He has already been there to check it out first. He never allows anything into our lives that we cannot handle, although sometimes we have to hold on to Him with an iron grip, and I know that is what kind of strength you have.

How blessed you are to have such a loyal and loving family and a multitude of friends.

I'll talk to you again soon. Maris

I like that, "Overcoming, one finger at a time!" It's as good a place to start as any. I'm praying for a growing awakening of your limbs, for patience, for courage, for peace.

I repeat what many have said, "Thank you, Sarah, for the updates! It means a lot to us."
I'm praying that you will have wisdom, comfort, and grace. God will show you how to put this all together in the now.

Bless you guys--all the Palmers. You're in my heart and prayers.
Love ya much!
Wendy C.
